Here, I would like to make my own financial major as an example. You can work in investment banks, banks, and securities companies. Of course, you can also start your own business and realize your life ideal. There are many ways to achieve the ideal, we can choose many directions for graduation. Take investment banks as an example. The core of investment banking is to help enterprises finance (direct financing) and raise money directly from the market (institutions and retail investors). The relative commercial bank lending is indirect financing. In fact, there are three things to be done: contracting, undertaking and underwriting. For example, IPO, refinancing, corporate bonds, private placement of small and medium-sized enterprises, and so on, also derived from the related restructuring, acquisition and merger of listed companies and other businesses, making money by commission. Similar to consulting, in the first three years of employment, they may not have much autonomy, mainly to execute orders.

Possibly, some people would spend a year relaxing or start their own business. However, most students either apply for graduate schools or find a job. It would be better if you have a goal or a plan for the future, but it’s okay if you do not have one because it takes time to figure out what you really want to do.

Personally, I don’t want to go to graduate school immediately after graduation. Because, for me, going to graduate school is more of a conformity behavior and the confusion of not knowing what to do. I hope to have some social experience, work experience, and know what kind of knowledge is more important to me, before I go to learn more.

After graduation, there are three main directions: applying for foreign graduates, domestic postgraduate entrance examinations or direct employment. Sixty percent of Wenzhou-Kean University students are applying for postgraduates abroad. Of course, some are directly employed, and fewer choose to enter the domestic graduate school. However, it depends on personal choice. If you have not yet figured out your future direction, you can also find a job after graduation and accumulate some social experience. After all, studying for postgraduates is also aiming to find a better job to some extent.
(Cherie)

I think it would be better to find a position in a related industry for 1-3 years after graduation. Gap year can help us better understand the industry we want to work in and accumulate experience. Secondly, it can make us aware of our own abilities, help us to think about our future development direction, and make more realistic choices.

It’s always a good idea to find a job related to your major. However, it is possible that you cannot find your idea job in a short time. Thus, you may continue studying for PHD or work in your family company.

In most cases, there are two choices after graduation: master study or have a job directly. I think that two choices both have advantages and disadvantages. Ongoing master study can help you enter into a higher stage which has more resources no matter for academy or career guidance. Also, you may easily get a better job after obtaining master degree. However, it also exists problems. For example, you have at least one less year to accumulate working experience. Also, it’s meaningless for you to have a master only because you want a master degree but nothing else. At the same time, if you are already get tired of study, you will not feel comfortable to experience intense academic pressure again, possibly leading to a high life and study quality in the following years. Getting a job directly has good sides. For example, some students learn more while doing the job especially for business students; practice and experience are sometimes more important than textbooks. However, undergraduates may not obtain their ideal job after immediate graduation since many competitive jobs require at lease master degree. Therefore, I think students should make the decision based on their own conditions but not blindly follow others.

I think for most of WKUers, going to graduate schools is the most popular choice for them. But before attanding their graduate school, they still have time to do some internships. Instead of relaxing at home, doing some interships can help you gain some experiences and knowledge in your future field. You might not be confused when you applying for a formal job in the future.

There is no standard answer for everyone to do after graduation. Many people find that graduate school doesn’t seem to be suitable for him after studying, and many people find that it is more conducive to career development to pursue postgraduate studies after working. As long as you find what suits you and know what you want, don’t follow the postgraduate entrance examination because everyone wants it.

For many students, there are two ways for them after their bachelor’s degree, one is to continue study for a master’s degree, another is to find a job. However, the third path for Chinese students is becoming more and more popular, which is the civil service exam. Since the social reputation of individual companies becomes not so good because of 996 or downsizing, the officer, also known as the public servants, becoming more and more popular for university students because the government will offer the job with stability and “lawful”. “Lawful” means the lawful working time, lawful salary, lawful vacations, and welfares which the individual and civil companies cannot or fully offer to their employees. Thus, students can also consider this as a choice after their graduate. If you’re interested in this, you can watch this video for novices in the civil service exam. The link is attached below.

There are many options after graduation. We can choose to work directly after graduation. If you feel that you are more interested in the major you are studying, and you want to continue to study it, then you might as well try the path of postgraduate entrance examination. In short, we have to choose what we like to do. For details, you can refer to some information on this website: https://jingyan.baidu.com/article/6b1823095871ccba58e159d6.html

The question of what to do after graduation seems to need to be decided earlier and earlier. Most of the students around me have chosen to go to graduate school, either to apply to go abroad or to stay in domestic universities. A small number of people chose to take the civil service exam, and those who chose to start their own business are the fewest. For me, I am not sure of my future plans yet, I think it’s because I haven’t found my own interest. I think it’s not a good decision to follow the crowd and choose a major that I am not interested in, but I need to think it over to prevent regret later.

I think what we should do after graduating can be divided into the two parts, continuing your stduying or going to work, but going to work mostly depends on what we can do, because the employment because stress and the competitive stress. Then we need to concern about the major or our interest. After graduating from a bachelor’s degree, I personally prefer to go abroad for graduate studies, because it can enhance my competitiveness in the workplace. In today’s society, academic qualifications are a stepping stone. I think it’s difficult to find a decent job with a general undergraduate degree alone. , So it is necessary to study for postgraduate studies. In addition, if you can have an internship or work experience abroad, it is of great significance to self-improvement. If you want to return to your country, you will become outstanding.

I think it’s necessary to think clearly about what you want to do in the future, especially when you are looking for an internship in the third and fourth years. Many jobs have prerequisites. For example, if you want to work at a well-known Internet company, you need at least one or two relevant internship experiences. In other words, the sooner you have a goal, the sooner you can prepare for it.

It’s up to personal preference. Most people would like to develop their further learning in China or aboard. Some others choose to stop learning or have a gap, or take an officer exam. As for me, I am going to apply for a domestic programe and get my Master’s degree in China because that effectively help me to be more competitive.

For me, I think I would rather gap for one year and apply again the next year, rather than choose a major to study randomly. Before I have a relevant job, I have no actual concept of the industry I am interested in, maybe in an internship. Later, I will realize that what I am actually interested in is not this industry, but a certain part of this industry. At that time, I will have a clearer understanding of my interest and study direction.

I think we should consider what to do after graduation before we apply for the university or choose the major. The majors or universities you choose could have a direct impact on your future. Just like if you choose Accounting as your major, then your future job will most likely be as an accountant. As a result, before you apply for graduate school, you should think about whether you are interested in Accounting or do you really want to be an accountant in the future. You should have a clear understanding of your future job before applying for graduate school. You can learn about your future job through internships and other channels.
