This is a really helpful suggestion for us. I am interested in applying the master degree about data analysis and data mining. I will also share some requirements from CMU.
“Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, HTML, as well as experience in using statistical packages, and use of statistical software programs.”
“English competency test scores are required with the following minimum scores: TOEFL: 250 on computer version and 100 on the Internet-Based Test and a 7 of the IELTS.”
For more details, you can check the more rquirements from http://mitsloan.mit.edu/master-of-business-analytics/admissions/apply/application-instructions/Master of Business AnalyticsMaster of Business Analytics

I highly recommend this website, https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools?int=top_nav_Grad_Schools. You can find related schools from this website. Although this is only a ranking, you can find related schools through the ranking. Find courses and projects on the school’s official website. This is relatively convenient, and the subject classification and ranking can better filter information.

Keep high grades. GPA 4.0 or 3.9, even 3.8, is one of the highlights of recent graduates’ resumes, and it’s not particularly difficult to get in most American universities. And it’s helpful for you to have a good course in University. The curriculum in the United States is very able to take into account the actual needs of the academic and industrial sectors, especially the algorithm course. You should learn it well, which is very helpful for your interview. Then some popular courses, such as machine learning, data mining and so on, can also benefit you a lot.
Apply for teaching assistant or research assistant. If you get good grades, you will be able to talk to the professor and apply to become his teaching assistant or research assistant. Although the salary is very low, the general school will help you reduce part or all of the tuition fees. Besides, it’s a good opportunity to practise English.

But computer science professors at WKU often say that GPA is not the most important indicator, and that it is more important to learn practical skills and do research than to improve GPA (maintain 3.5+), how to maintain a balance between GPA and all other things?

But as for me, since my family and I do not care if I can graduate within 4 years, I just simply don’t care gpa. May this be weird for a lot of people but I just simply enjoying learning(suffering) from the hard courses and interesting professors (and projects with them)
