I recommend training courses. Because most of us may not have enough self-control, it is difficult to learn. If you study by yourself, you will waste a lot of time in the process of finding materials and exploring learning methods. (Zhang Zheng)

I think it depends on one’s self-control. Students with poor self-control are more suitable to participate in offline training classes. As a person with poor self-control, my experience is that I always play mobile phones when I take online classes. What the agency said package, I think one is to see your goal points, two is to see your personal level. If the students seriously want to take the exam in this kind of pressure seriously, the hope of achieving the goal is very big.

I think the best training course is offline teaching. You can find some offline courses through certain resources, such as New Oriental. Generally, intensive courses are intensive training. The eight hour day course lasts for two weeks. This kind of immersion learning will let you learn a lot of systematic knowledge and test skills, so that your grades will be improved. However, this kind of offline course is generally more expensive. If you want cheaper courses, you can choose online courses. Online courses require a high degree of concentration and self-control. Otherwise, these tuition fees will be wasted.

From my perspective, training courses can be more efficient than self-learning. The first reason is that not everyone has self-control. Some people may get tired of it even before they finishing the word memorying part. The second reason is that the teachers in the training institution has more experience than yourself. As far as I know, the teachers their also need to take the test every year. If they can’t reach a high grade, they will be fired. Thus, those teachers know the general mechanism of the test pattern. When they share their experience with you, it sounds like you are also “field-tested”.

I recommend taking training courses to take TOEFL and GRE courses instead of self-study since I do not have the confidence of being self-conduct all the time or keep studying them efficiently continuously. Thus, from my perspective, taking the courses is a more time-saving and efficient way.
If you like you study by yourself, I suppose the vocabulary is paramount to GRE, and listening is significant for TOEFL. You can make more effort in these parts.

I think it depends on one’s own conditions whether to study in a training class or to study by oneself:
      1. If you have a good knowledge of English, you can study it by yourself. You don’t need to spend money to go to the training class, but if the foundation is not good, I think you should go to the class.
      2. People with strong self-control don’t need to go to training classes, but if they don’t have strong self-control, they should go to cram school.

I think we can improve our grades more quickly by attending training classes.First of all, the training class can help some students who have no self-control.Secondly and most importantly, the teachers in the training class will explain some skills to us to help us grasp the key points quickly and get marks when solving the problems, which can’t be achieved by self-study.In addition, the teachers of the training class will give reasonable suggestions according to the mistakes and habits of each student when doing exercises. After the training class, we should study by ourselves, during which we need to practice a lot of questions to improve our grade.

I think the training courses for TOEFL are very helpful, because a good teacher can not only teach knowledge, but also, most importantly, summarize the exam skills and help us improve in a more targeted and efficient way. I took two classes during my preparation for the TOEFL: large classes and one-on-one classes, and I want to briefly compare the two classes.
First, the advantage of large classes is that teachers in large institutions can provide more resources, such as past exam questions, summative answer patterns, frequently tested words or topics, and so on. However, teachers in large classes could not pay attention to each student, so it was difficult to give substantive help to our problems. In addition, I think the biggest problem of large classes is that teachers like to let students remember the answer template, which leads to the sameness of Chinese students’ oral answers and no breakthrough in content.
Secondly, the advantage of one-to-one is that the teacher can customize the teaching plan according to the situation of the students in all aspects, which is very suitable for the students who have been unable to overcome their weak points. Take my oral English teacher as an example. When I answer questions that are very mechanical and emotionless, he will continue to help me practice in various ways until the result is satisfactory.

Regarding the training of language exams, it is better to choose different ways depending on your situation. If you thought your English base is not enough, you might select to attend the language course one-to-one. Especially when you are not confident with your spoken English, you will better not attend the general courses because you will shy of speaking to the public. As a result, your spoken English will never be improved. In the one-to-one class, teachers will correct your weakness according to your personal problems. But in the general course, you may be more motivated to study because other students in the same courses may be very hard and push you to do so. So taking what form of courses depends on different situations.

I recommend memory vocabulary first before practicing TOEFL. With enough vocabulary, you can improve your listening and read quickly. Then, it may be beneficial to find someone to help you with the speaking part and writing part. A speaking course or writing course with more than 10 people may not be so efficient. I prefer smaller speaking and writing course, in which we can have more communication with the instructor.

If you are not confident about your English foundation or you do not know anything about language tests such as TOEFL and GRE, then you can choose some training courses. Personally, I think that a one-to-one course will be more effective than a class with a few people, especially the oral part. If you are in class together, the teacher cannot train you alone, but when you are listening to others speaking, in fact, most of your time is wasted. In fact, taking classes together is inefficient for oral learning, because you cannot do a lot of exercises and the teacher will not give you effective feedback and targeted exercises. Relatively speaking, one-on-one can make up for these shortcomings. But all in all, you cannot say that your hopes are pinned on the training courses. The most important thing is to rely on your own extracurricular exercises to help you raise your points.

I think if you are a student with poor self-control, the multiplayer training course will not help you. Because the training course only gives you assignments and tasks, and explains them to you after class. If you have poor self-control, you will not be able to finish your homework very well, and the explanation in class will not be very helpful to you.
Of course, one-on-one offline training courses may be more useful for you, because there are teachers who specifically supervise and assist you in your study. Remember to choose Offline courses instead of online courses, because students with poor self-control will not listen to online courses well.

For GRE learning, I think training courses are more effective than self-study. The first reason is that teachers play a supervisory role. Not everyone has self-control. Maybe many new words are boring and want to give up. The second reason is that we can avoid detours. Teachers in training institutions have more experience than you. Therefore, under the leadership of the teacher, your learning efficiency will be higher, and you can gain more problem-solving skills.

Well, actually I would like to study GRE by myself rather than taking some online courses, cuz if you do not have a rudimentary vocabulary reserve, it is totally wasting your time to learn some tips. The reason is that these critical steps are based on your preliminary understanding of the sentences or the paragraphs. How can you get the correct answer without fundamental comprehending of the text. In my opinion, it would be possible. Therefore, calm your heart and start from the bottom. Although the road is long, you would finally achieve the success.

From my perspective, GRE is an extremely demanding standardize test with a high request of vocabulary reserve and reading speed. Therefore, I think what is more important is that the examinee should learn the knowledge on their own initiative. Although the training course will definitely play some roles in their learning, they cannot get good grades in the end cuz they only focus on what the teacher taught in classes but do not add some practice for themselves after class. As you can see, many students who have already successfully gotten high scores started preparing GRE in freshman year or sophomore year, they are autonomous to memorize the vocabulary and practice a large number of exercises.

Well, today I would like to share how to make a rational choice about time allocation of GRE and TOFEl test. Firstly and the most importantly, you need to be extremely clear about what your dream university request, like whether they allow you to waive TOEFL score or not. Then assess yourself seriously, see if you are good at listening and your true level cuz there are 3 of 4 sections in TOEFL examine your listening level but all questions in GRE test are not. Finally, try to schedule your time and make a feasible plan cuz if you do not have enough time to study both these two tests, try to take one you think is more important for your application.

In my opinion, training courses are more effective because the teachers in the training institutions have enough experience and can systematically learn knowledge and exam skills through training. In addition, the teachers in the training courses can also timely point out our mistakes and correct our habits, so that we can better adapt to the exam.
